PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR (Food Manufacturing) £14.27 – (£15.27 PER HR)

Job description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Supervisor to join a leading food manufacturer specialising in savoury snack products. You’ll oversee day-to-day operations within the cookhouse, ensuring production targets, quality standards and food safety requirements are achieved.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced production or manufacturing supervisor looking for a long-term role with a growing business. You will lead a team within the Cookhouse department, ensuring production targets, quality standards, food safety requirements, and health & safety procedures are consistently achieved.

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will play a key role in driving performance, developing staff, and maintaining high operational standards across the department.

Key Responsibilities as a Production Supervisor (Food Manufacturing)

  • Lead and motivate a team of Cookhouse Operatives
  • Delegate duties effectively and safely across the shift
  • Monitor team and equipment performance
  • Ensure production plans are completed in line with schedules
  • Conduct documented shift handovers and communicate operational issues
  • Prepare and verify stock prior to transfer to the Packing Hall
  • Deliver inductions and ongoing training to production staff
  • Support adherence to SOPs and company procedures
  • Carry out and record routine equipment checks
  • Manage hygiene standards and GMP compliance within the department
  • Ensure PPE is available, maintained, and correctly used
  • Monitor stock rotation and production processes
  • Maintain accurate production and operational records
  • Support the achievement of production KPIs and quality targets

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Supervisor or Team Leader role within food manufacturing or production
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Computer literate with good record-keeping abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of GMP, food safety, and hygiene standards
  • Level 2 COSHH qualification (preferred)
  • FLT Licence (preferred)
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
